Getting ready for 2009

[img] 2008to2009
2009 is just around the corner. I started iPENthisBLOG just 2 months back and I have a lot of work to do to make it to a blog of my dream.

Thinking over these tons of backlogs and the nearing NewYear set a lot of thoughts rolling in my mind. Are we ready to take 2009 at our side and to make it a lucky year for us?

I being a blogger, felt these could be common backlogs for a blogger. So, thought I would share them. Working on these are easy and effective, provided I don't put them for later on.

Clearing my mailbox
There were about 100 mails in my inbox, which is surely far less when compared to many of my fellow bloggers, but even then, I have read somewhere that inbox should contain only mails which need your action.

Guess what, I already finished this one task today. Hurray!! Labelled and organized my inbox.

For a blogger, when things are organized, performing your work at hand will be much easier. The work flow would not be hindered if there is less clutter.

Organizing my address book
As you start blogging, you extend your reach to many people, you get acquainted to them and you communicate with many.

Keeping your address book organized with all required details would be very helpful in getting in contact with that person to whom you spoke a few months back.

I have started on this one. Still a long way to go.

Update my profile
Writing an about page is a long pending work for iPENthisBLOG and I am compiling it. Hopefully, I will finish it before this year.

Similar in this line, updating a profile in the social networks, let it be your occupation, your avatar or your profile picture, anything for that matter could be taken up as a task to complete before 2009.

Contacting your old friends and updating them with your phone number, email id, new blog or venture you are indulged in could bring closer long lost friendship.

Organizing my usernames and passwords
Keeping the list of usernames and passwords of all online networks I am a part of.

Using some software or just compiling them in a password protected file in your local computer would suffice.

If the passwords are in use for a long time, changing them to a new ones could also be taken up as a task for welcoming 2009 afresh.

Calendar for Blogging
Having a calendar for blogging is very important. Let it be deciding on topics you are going to tackle on your posts or leaving comments in your favourite blogs or updating your blog features or updating your profile in social networks.

When the tasks are scheduled, a sense of time is present while you blog and a responsibility is endowed upon you and that itself brings the best in you.

I am building a calendar for iPENthisBLOG, so that I could deliver good posts regularly.

Having monthly resolutions
After starting to write this post, I got inspired to add this last pointer. When there is less than 25 days, my sense of urgency and focus seemed to increase. So, why not have a resolution pertaining to blogging and for that matter, anything, every month rather than having one once a year. Why not grow quickly? (haha).

Having big goals is not wrong but by focussing on smaller activities every month, we can watch our steps and keep us in track to achieve our bigger dreams.

Do you have anything in mind for the coming year? Share with all bloggers by leaving a comment. Let us all achieve our best this coming new year.
